Scars Over Berlin

A delightful sense of both wonder and gravity.

CURRENTLY BEING WORKSHOPPED WITH HIRAETH THEATRE COMPANY IN ANTICIPATION OF A FULL PRODUCTION, SUMMER 2019!

After four years in development, Scars Over Berlin is Lindsay's first full-length play. Scars Over Berlin juxtaposes Cold War-era Berlin with modern day America, exploring themes of surveillance, privacy, communication, and isolation in our current society. Through the eyes of two contemporary twenty-somethings who are transported back in time to opposite sides of the Berlin wall, Scars Over Berlin seeks to awaken audiences to the similarities between the most thorough surveillance state in history and the "greatest democracy" in the world.  While rooted in a very real historical and modern political context, Scars Over Berlin is a fantastical take on the problems facing our society today, including a fairy godmother-eqsue David Bowie, without whom our heroes (and this playwright) would never survive. Scars Over Berlin challenges us to open our eyes to a world we forgot and a world we now ignore - both with dangerous consequences.
